Can an AGA double bulb light strip be gutted and be used to house 2 175 watt metal halide retros? I was thinking of the spot retros that have the sockets attached to the aluminum reflectors that you cut to size. The ballast would not be inside the hood. I would mount it somewhere under or on the side of the tank.
Would this work or would I have a melted mess?
