Should work fine. Most recommend a turnover rate of 10x tank volume per hour. By the time you get it plumbed you won't have 900 gph flow, IME. It should be fine. You might want to plumb a ball valve into the return line so that you can throttle it back a bit, just in case your overflows can't keep up.
New hobbyist and poster. Bought Iwaki 30rxlt for my 75g Oceanic as return. Will be 1" drain I think. Iwaki 960 gph at 4'head. Is this too much? Maybe save it for fish only tank in future? LFS's not much help. Eventually plan on some SPS some clams.
