We think if you order here they will blow your mind. I actually sent them an Email asking if they had any clue as to what they were doing! We received 6 huge show quality stony corals for $325 delivered in perfect condition. Absolutely insane. You must consider www.marinedepotlive.com when purchasing any reef livestock. We have never had an order so well done from anywhere (wholesale or retail). Highly recommended and other livestock suppliers best take note.

We were skeptical at first having been severely 'burned' by a couple of other 'reputable' livestock mail order places. Wayland at Marine Depot Live does an outstanding job every bit as good at customer service as his sister company in drygoods Marine Depot. We will most certainly purchase again as prices and quality are the best we've found anywhere by a wide margin.
I e-mailed them yesterday because I wanted to "will call" a few things. I didn't like the reply I got.

Personally, I see nothing wrong with their reply. But at the same time, I can see justifictation for your purchasing decision (in this case, not to buy) based on their policy. IMO, it's not an unreasonable policy; I can infer a couple of reasons why such a policy is place (primarily to protect the company and to streamline operations).
Hi, golfish. Sorry you had a bad cyber with Marine Depot Live. We had great personalized service from Wayland after placing our order. Any problems with the computerized online ordering system were more than made up for with the best quality livestock we've seen yet. Have not ordered from Jeff's but usually hear very good things about it.
I've always had success will calling items from reeffanatic.com. The guy is setup in an industrial park right where the 60 & 605 freeways meet in whittier.
I've heard that the owners of reeffanatic and marine depot started as partners in reeffanatic and later split up.
they tend to carry the same items, and as far as pricing goes, I would give the edge to reeffanatic.

Steve has a shop on Foothill in Ranch Cucamunga. I'm not sure of the hours right now. I e-mailed him yesterday. Like already mentioned Reeffanatic is at the 60 and 605 fwy's. Bob is a great guy and will match any price, he doesn't carry any live stock tho. Hey, have you been to Pasadena tropical fish? That guy makes me sick.

I have only delt with MD one time and that was on a customer pick up (me) I called them wanting to pick up a PFO EYE 250 watt ballast. They told me they had it in stock, I drove down to pick it up and guess what?
Screw me once shame on you...screw me twice and shame on me. Driving down to Orange county on a Friday afternoon is not fun. Driving back is even less fun.

I have my pick of place's to go here in So Cal....Reeffanatic is 15 minutes away, Jeff's is 30 minutes, Steve Tyree is just down the street. Pasadena Tropical Fishes ... the owner (Steve) is of questionable character and knowledge. The store does offer some quality livestock every so often, and competitive prices for a LFS (esp. livestock, which often times is cheaper then MO). If you go, go just to buy; do not heed the advice of Steve.
Steve Tyree is sharing a facility with Piece of the Reef. They're still in Rancho Cucamonga. They're closed Saturday, close down early on Friday, and open up late Sunday. www.pieceofthereef.com for hours and info.

LOL, I have been visiting PTF for some time now. I remember when they had the store closer to Rosemead blvd. I bought a few corals from him over two years ago, good stuff and the price wasn't bad but some of the advice this guy gave was really off the wall. His fish tanks are in bad shape.

Now PTF makes Monrovia Tropical Fish, operated by "Lo", another sketchy fellow!
