I got my new Icecap 660 ballast today (VHO) and need to know how to wire up the power wires (there are three of them) to a typical three pronged cord (I'm going to butcher up an old extension cord).

Black=hot
White=neutral
Green=ground

Which of these go where on the plug (I'm guessing the ground goes onto the bottom of the plug (you know..the little round plug).
Before I go crazy, I just need to be sure.

Your help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Eboman

Take a look at the IceCap site...they have all the wiring diagrams there.

I did the same thing about 6 weeks ago. I went to the hardware store and got a 3 wire cord for power tools and then matched the white to white, green to green and black to black and then butt spliced them together with those connectors used for auto wiring. I taped over the connectors and then taped the three wires together in a bundle. Cut each of the wires from the harness to different lengths so you don't have a ball of connectors and wire. Everything worked fine. I think you could also use a wire nut for each but that is a little bulkier.

Check the Ice Cap web site. They have diagrams for wiring the endcaps, etc. but I don't remember if they told how to do the actual connections.
