I have heard that some strains of red-legged hermits will mow down coralline algae. Is this true? Has anybody had experience with this happening? Thanks

I have quite a few red leg hermit crabs in my tank, for nearly a year. The coralline algae is doing great, and I have never seen them attacking any algae other than on the substrate. They climb all over the rocks, but I see no evidence of devastation.

Hope that helps,

Ed
