xenia does not pump why?

I have just purchased a xenia which was described as a pumping xenia.
It pumped at first but has now stoped all else seens fine .
I have the coral in a strong water current and strong but not direct light.

the xenia in my tank didn't pulse when it was hit with strong current. i removed one maxijet 1200 and now they're fine.
I also had a problem of releasing too much CO2 into the water. i stopped the reactor and started kalk and now they and everything else looks great.

I have 2 types of xenia and both pulse.
alk needs to be in good
temp around 80(lower temp=less pulsing)FME
light strong
I got these from people with halides and I put them in my tank with 3x96 pc's and they did pulse some but since I got the halides I keep them high in the water column and they pulse more/better and they are in a strong current yes with less current you can see them pulse easier but even in the strong current they still pulse just fine. I keep them in this current to keep them cleaned out of any debris and to help them spread in my tank.

My xenia's pulsing definitely seems to be light related. At night when the lights are off, they pulse rapidly. Then during the day when the lights come on, the pulsing slows down and virtually stops by the end of the day. Lights go off, and they speed up again. Changing the amount of current didn't seem to have any effect. As arnjer said, I think reducing the current just makes it easier to see them pulse because they're not being blown around so much.
