I modified my ETS Evolution easily to use a becket injector. The Sen 900 pump that drives it doesn't create much in the way of bubbles compared to the bio balls.
What size/make pump would be suited it a becket mod'd ETS Ev 500?
Hi:
I can tell you from using beckettheaded skimmers for many years, that the harder you push them, the better they perform. I have no idea how big or small your skimmer is, but the absolute lowest pump size i would go w/ (using a beckett) is a mag12.
If you have a taller skimmer then i would think about a MAK4 or iwaki40 size pump. The key w/ beckettheads is pressure, if your pump can handle a decent amount of backpressure you'll get good constant bubble size and tons of areation.
IMO the sen900 will drive a beckett head only in certain applicatios, but the times I've tried its never performed well.

No plans really. I just got a .5 barbed male-threaded connector and screwed (forced) it into the input end of the becket then used a small piece of .5 flex tubing to connect it to the barb output fitting of the skimmer's cap. The Beckett fits nicely into the downdraft tube.

Beckettheads should really be contained in some sort of fashion where you control the amount of air which is allowed to enter the venturi holes. When you leave the beckett open it can draw in large amounts of air, and mix the water too violently. Thats why everyone who builds a beckett skimmer uses some sort of containment chamber w/ an adjustable air intake. Check out the aerofoamer(reefconcepts), or precisionmarines version.
i believe you might have to do two things one limit the amount of air getting into this bekett and too drive it harder. I believe the iwakis/MAk4 drive about 1200gph
my opinion

Couldn't you put a small ball valve on the air intake of the EVO to control the air intake. Sounds interesting, would love to see a picture or two if you have them...
