I know a lot of folks are using rubbermaid stoarage tubs for prop systems and refugiums. I have two such tubs in my basement, and one of them started to leak last night. Despite the fact that I had it on a nice level stand, had plenty of support on the sides for bowing, and even placed it on a sheet of styro. It still developed a crack/rip on the bottom.
This was one of the larger 50 gal tubs they make. I also had 4" of sand in it, maybe that added to the stress. I don't know, just wanted to let people know, they aren't fool proof.
I was up till all hours of the night playing musical corals, trying to find new homes for all my cuttings and extra lr. I wish I would have just bought a heavy duty stock tank from Farm and Fleet the first time around.
