I never really thought about this, but is pH influenced by temperature? I recently upgraded my chiller from a woefully undersized 1/6 HP to a 1/3 HP. I gradually lowered my temp to a range of about 78.5-79. Since I have done this my pH has risen from a range of 8 in the AM and 8.1 at lights out to 8.1 in the AM to 8.25 at lights out. Has anyone else had this type of change or does lower temp induce higher pH? TIA

The solubility of CO2 varies as a function of temperature, so pH will as well to some extent. Other metabolic processes that acidify the water probably slow down, giving the system the ability to process it more efficiently, so the pH might have less of a tendency to dip down from CO2/carbonic acid in the water.
