I think that you were missing the point in our thread.
I never said a bad thing about your idea. So not understanding why you deleted my post. Just shows you what type of guy you really are. I was never at your store so I would never say anything bad about it. But did hear about your smoking. I liked your idea of setting up QT and Hospital tanks. Let the people have an option is good. I just feel if people don't have room to set up Qt that a LFS would do that for them at least hold the fish t'ill it's eating and no sign of disease. But to charge for it just doesn't sound proper think to get business. It just don't sound realistic.
I never deleted your posts if you notice they were deleted by a moderator because evidently you were repping another LFS. Like stated we certainly welcome all feedback and suggestions as we strive to grow and improve.
We often hold fish for customers and will gladly feed it for a customer. You mentioned "I remember going to LFS and seeing the same fish for a few weeks knowing that the fish is eating and no out breaks. Today it's rare you see a fish you like and the next time you go LFS it's gone." That is often the case that fish do not sit in the store for weeks as people wish to purchase them.
We do inspect and medicate our fish. We are equipped with QT's which we utilize as well as hospital systems. Not every fish can handle the same medication and not every fish goes unsold for weeks plus with new fish coming in and out even if it was doesn't mean that something isn't possibly introduced. That is why even though we take every precaution and necessary steps to prevent this in our main systems we still think some people may benefit from and take advantage of our offer to separately QT and acclimate the fish to their specifications.
Btw no hard feelings I understand your points and are valid. Just want to keep this a healthy discussion as I think the subject of QT is important for this hobby. After the fish is collected it is often held before being sold to overseas brokers then held again before being shipped all the way here. Then it either goes to another wholesaler or as most often the case here in NYC (because everyone buys off the same suppliers) direct to the store. So introducing protocol methods to condition the fish to the best possible outcome is in everyones best interest.
