I was wondering if anyone knows a minimum time one can wait between gluing PVC and running water through the line.

I'm planning on setting up a frag and want to run it off the existing plumbing so I will be cutting into the PVC and gluing a Tee off to head over to the frag tank.

I'm just not sure how long it will take for this pipe segment will be ready to have water running through it which will determine how long my display will not be getting filtered for.

20-30 minutes good to go Just make sure you let the cleaner or primer, whichever you're using, dry to touch before you glue it. Other wise the glue will take much longer to dry and won't be as strong.

O wow, I thought it was going to be much longer.

I actually also realized i should be able to disconnect all the unions allowing removal of the whole pipe to let me flush with tap after as well.

wouldnt worry of toxins the primer evaporates really quickly and the glue cures with touch to water, wouldnt advise it but if you poured the glue in your tank would just cure on top of water and go straight to the overflow
