im havin a problem n my reef tank all of my fish keep dying 1 by 1 I noticed my percula clown had a shade of all white on his body not 2 sure if it was ick I noticed it on my blk n white clown as well didnt noticed it on all of my other fish orange shoulder bangai cardinal pyramid beauty bluethroat triggers lamark angel wantanabe angel all died does any 1 have a idea wats wrong wit my tank I have a 265 gallon reef wit lps and fish im running gfo reactor carbon reactor n a bio pellet reactor also my reef octopus skimmer as well

Did you add anything new? I got hit with velvet last year lost all my fish. It was so fast couldn't even treat.

Need a little more information. First how long the fish been in your tank. Did you add a fish lately. Did you notice if your temperature drop during the cold nights we had last week. Can tell you one fish probably got velvet and spread through out the tank. I won't add any fish and how many fish are still alive. If so how are they doing? Eating ect....
Parameters r good salinity 125 temp 79.5 calcium 450 alk 8.5 magnesium 1300 ph 8.2 as far as fish I haven't added any last fish was about 3weeks ago added a scold brain 2weeks ago phosphate was high but didn't lose any corals just fish I have about 10 fish left out of 20 they r all eating I only feed once a day misis n brine shrimp I rinse it out b4 feeding n I also add 2drops of garlic n let it soak b4 I feed the fish

How did their bodies look? Give an idea of how long it took for you to get them out after they died so we can take that into consideration.

When you say "got rid of clowns" are they in isolation?
How quickly did you check ammonia and nitrite after first death?

My first thought is velvet. I had expirence with it. Hits hard and fast. Were your fish laboring breathing. The velvet spores attack the gills. If you have no fish left in tank the spores will die in 6-8 weeks without a fish host. It doesn't affect corals or inverts. Good luck
The first couple of fish i introduced into the tank died but i thought maybe it was bcuz i rushed 2 fast but then i started 2 lose 1 fish at a time couldnt pinpoint y never looked at da body of the dying fish a couple got caught on my mp40s i thought maybe that was the case so i left it alone then yesterday saw my blk n white clown swimming weird my cleaner wrasse was pikin at him thought maybe but the once the wrasse let off i saw he was still swimmin weird looked at his body it was like a shade of white didnt take no chance took him out asap i looked at my percula clown n he had the same thing on his body took him out chk all my parametrs everything seems ok ammonia 0 nitrate 0 nitrite 0 phosphate 0.06 salinity 1.025 ca 420 alk 9.0 mag 1300 came home this afternoon yellow tang dead on the bottom looked at it the face was white not the entire body

Pictures would be very helpful (and some periods
). If I understand you right, you left for work and the tank was fine. You came home and it was dead with a whit face. We really need pictures.If you can, I'd remove all the fish and quarantine them in new water and start low dose of copper and antibacterial to try and stop the bleeding.
Maybe it's poison or pollutant of some kind. Believe it or not, in many cases the fish will show distress before the coral. Coral can take a while to start displaying diseases or other problems.

It's going to be hard to find what caused this reaction. You just got to ride the course of this. Hopeful you don't lose anymore fish. All you can do make sure fish are eating. No weird spots on fish. Breathing is normal. No ammonia and water par is good. Temp is stable and filters and pumps are working. I went through this last spring. Lost 5 fish which I believed was velvet. I just wouldn't add anything for few months.

+ 1 to piran it sucks but when velvet starts spreading it's already to late its gonna run its course u gonna lose fish when I had it lost 10 fish out of 25 or so I let it run its course and waited a full month to add new fish best advice I can give is don't add anymore fish until things get better and keep fish feed well good luck having lg reef with a lot of fish 20 or more is a whole nother ball game it's not easy obviously if ur gona keep tank long term and could get a qt set up that be ideal
