aiptasia!!!!

Whats up everybody? After some illness and sandy and other things life throws our way I am attending to my tank...going to down size from my 65 to a redsea max 34 gallon....in the process of cleaning out my tank and i have some rock I would really like to keep but its covered in aiptasia...if I let it dry out and then cycle it to "live" again will the damn things die or just cut it as a loss and find new rock.....thanks in advance....:arg:

Just get a peppermint shrimp I got one that took care of my aipstasia problem

where did you get your peppermint from i got 4 and they havent done anything

cook the rock, get rid of every thing as long as your starting over.

I went with all three. Peppermint Shrimp, File Fish and Aiptasia X. First killed what I could with Aiptasia X then put in shrimp and File Fish. Worked for me. Also remember not all peppermint shrimp are the Aiptasia eating type.

If your close to Howard beach you can leave rock here for a day see if mines will clean your up

Peppermint shrimp worked great for me. 2 in a 72g bow front & I never saw aptasia again. Since your starting over, I would do just that. Start over! Cook the rock let it dry out & then bring it back. Easy, cheap, & the right way of doing it. Good luck

+1 on peppermint shrimp but IMO you need quite a few 3 in my 46 bow and I have only 1 sob who has lived through everything but the laser treatment and a blow torch. Lots of places selling camel shrimp as peppermint. I'm sure I will be trumped by someone with the scientific name just my .02

Caribbean peppermint shrimp are the ones to get...and 'cooking' the rock does not mean boiling or baking it in your kitchen!
