i have not had any problems with my tank for months now, easy sailing.

then today i come home from class around 230 (blue on 11am, whites 12pm) and i notice things look weird.

LPS: I notice my large torch isnt fully extended, hammers same thing, and my bubble coral is open like feeding (mouth expossed to light and bubbles on perimeter)

SPS: i see no polyp extension from anyone.

Soft: Mushrooms are smallest ive ever seen them, look like dots (weird???)
GSP are open as usual

THe only things that looks normal is my trumpet and my RBTA

Water: nitrate- 0 (undetectable)
phosphate- .04oom
Cal- 380
ALK- 7
ph- 8.2

Anyone know what could be going on? everything was fine yesterday and last night.

wow, so just checked the mag as suggested by edd and it was at 1600!

i have not added mag since a bryopsis outbreak more than 6 months ago.
I use red sea coral pro salt.

How could this have happened? and could the high mag be causing these problems?

what about the mushrooms? ive never seen mushrooms shrivel up like this before

Did you feed the corals? Some times when I target feed they close up...I also had some corals closed for less than a day but when they opened they started to multipily pretty fast..My duncan and acans did that it was weird they all of a sudden started to sprout heads like crazy.

Very weird, if the corals were fully extending yesterday give it a day or two.

The only time something similar has happened to me was when I use to aim for "perfect" by adding ph buffer and other stuff. I stopped adding and it never happened again.

If you did not add anything to the water and can be certain no one did and you have been keeping up with the tank, I say give it 2 or 3 days.
