Usually with inverts there is a maximum size they get. So what is the max size of this anemone. Mine stretches at over 13in and if it keeps growing i have to get rid of him. Do these things just keep growing?

That's a nice anemone. The largest I've seen in person was at Manhattan Aquarium when they were in that huge circle tank. The base was at least dinner plate sized and they were a good 1.5-2ft tall.

I've seen pictures of tanks with wall to wall RBTAs but it's tough to see individuals.

used to have one, splitting a lot of times--totally took over my 80ish gallon tank--each colony reached around 15--20in--actually they grew fast. def they swept out everything else in the tank

since then i gave up rbta and basically stopped feeding my nems

Anemones really dont have max sizes they can reach, Its based on conditions. Like albano said and ming, it depends on conditions.

Larger hosting anemones have evolved like that because of the association with anemonefish. With out the clowns the anemone would attacked by turtles and other animals. likewise the clowns fish could be eaten if it didnt have the anemone. Clownfish do not occur in the wild without anemones. but anemones can appear without clowns.

Good husbandry is what albano and some others have show where anemones reach large sizes and dont split.

Some carpet anemones and magnificas anemones can grow to 3-4feet in diameter and support 30 clownfish at one time

Beautiful 'nem. Wish I could have one (a small one) in my 24g, but I love SPS too much to consider trading one for the other, and I'd be too terrified of a nightly stroll to keep one with SPS.

Love those bubble tips! You don't see them as often in captivity.

This is something you want to find out before you purchase a living creature. In the future you shouldn't buy creatures that will out grow your tank.

Duke looks good but if gets to big cut in half I've done it. Right threw the foot and middle of mouth with shape razor....very easy not messy at all....then I dipped in coral dip shut down flow till it attached and then back to regular flow...i have a leather that's 20 inch...but don't have to worry about it moving into power head...mine don't move i think cause I feed it regularly. But yes have had them go into power head.

Good luck
