This might be a dum question but if you take the black trim off a tank will it still be able to hold water ? In using a 25 gallon marineland cube

Don't take a chance. Tank is made to have the top. Buy a rimless tank.

+1 If it was meant to be rimless, it would not have the trim. They are made differently than a truly rimless tank. 25 gallons of water on the floor is not a pretty sight

No, you can't do it. The plastic trim makes for a structural integrity of the tank. Most massive produced tanks has plastic trim so thinner glass can be used for their built+ th wall panels are not flat polished ad usually have very rough edges.

Yea I'm not going to do it .. Plus the glass is not the same as a rimless . This tank is for my girlfriend . I have a rimless myself I'm building I will be posting a thread soon. Thanks

I took the rim off of a jbj 28 nano but the front and sides where all one piece of acrylic.your tank would collapse under the pressure of water...I tested this on an old 29 high and it didnt last long

Yea I may have no choice to get rid of this tank now cause the top plastic rim cracked
