Hi All,

What's your opinion on the best algae cleaner magnet out on the market (priced within reason). I have 120g tank (approx 3/8"-1/2" thick glass). I've used te magna-float...they are soso. Can anyone sugguest a better algae magnet? I've done the razor, and the scubber pad. the razor works great except my tank it 18" high and I can reach the bottom. The pad is also the same problem. THe worst is getting coraline algae off the front of te tank. :help:

thanks,
Peter

Those things are awsome and save so much time on cleaning the glass. I use the razor at least once a week to give the glass a good cleaning.

As for a magnet I use the Hammerhead: http://www.premiumaquatics.com/Merc...ROD&Product_Code=AF-HAMMERFLOA&Category_Code=

I know it more expensive than the Mag Floats but it does such a better job and you don't have to go over the same spot a bunch of times like the mag floats.

But when it falls off the glass, you'll have to fish it out. :smash: :banghead: A real pain in the a$$ for my 36" tall tank.

:scratchch the one I linked to floats just like the mag float when it falls off the glass. I guess the company should have called it the Hammerhead Float

You can buy it from Premium Aquatics directly:

I use the Algae Free rare earth magnets. Some float and some don't, so you need to make sure you get the right one. Also if you're going to get one of these magnets, don't get one to large for your glass size, as they're very strong and can they can crack the glass when you put them together.
