First - do not raise the pH quickly - it can be deadly to your fish!

Are you properly aerating your water change water before using it?
Is the room your tank is in exposed daily to fresh air through an open window?
Do you have a light over your fuge/sump that runs on the opposite schedule as the lights on your DT?

All of these things will help (gently) raise the pH of your water. In combination with water changes you should be able to get the pH back to the 8.1 range in a week or so.

Also remember that pH readings will be higher during the day than at night. What time of day did you measure the pH and did you run the test more than once so you are sure it is a correct reading? If using a probe - have you calibrated it recently?
