Ok here goes I am trying to do a beananimal/herbie overflow with just a siphon and dry emergency. I plan to use flexible pvc down to my sump. Below is the parts list I have come up with (see diagram below for reference). Hopefully everything is right but if you see any problems please let me know.
I am having trouble figuring out how to go from my return pump w/ 1? outlet to my return bulkheads which are ??. I am using the same pump to return to two tanks (stacked one above the other on shelving) each having two returns (4 total). What do I use to connect into the bulkhead, should I get a threaded bulkhead and a mpt 90 elbow with barb fitting on the other end (see parts list)? How do I reduce the diameter of the tubing and where should the splitters and ball valves go to control the flow? Or will loc line valves work (might be cheaper and easier with inline ball valves though)?
Also what size overflow box for 1? bulkhead to drain? The tanks are 40g breeders (36l x 18w x 16h). I am having them custom made so can do so in any size but I know it depends on the flow rate. The pump I have right now is rated to 500gph at 6 feet and it will be split so perhaps I need a bigger one. If so any suggestions?
