So can you get messed up just touching them..............I doubt it because I have been touching them for a while? But if you have a open cut I think your in trouble!

Its not as dangerous as playing with a lionfish but it sounds like a close second.

Just touching you can. But underwater without disrupting them you aren't as likely. but if you cut the zoa and get it in eye, mouth, cut, or absorbed through skin you can get pretty sick and can even be fatal if now treated.

Lionfish might be a distant 2nd to palytoxin.

but i have touched them and not been sick?
so what i am curious if it is only when you have a open cut ect.....:scratchch

Like stated above, the toxin most likely wont get released in the water unless the zoa is threatened. Its part of their defense. If it does get released and it goes into a cut, scrape, eyes, mouth or any other exposed skin, you are screwed!
