Does anyone know if there are fish that eats bryopsis? The article only mentions manual removal... Here is a pic of bryopsis not to be confused with sommon hair algae:

How can you tell the difference between Bryopsis & regular Hair algae?

heres a quote form the article:

"Bryopsis has also recently started to grow in the aquarium. This algae is easily identified by the feather shaped thalli although from a distance it would appear to be common hair algae. In our tank, the Bryopsis is a deeper green than the Derbesia and has grown a lot taller. Since the hair algae isn't too tall it would indicate that tank inhabitants either graze on it or it's just starting to grow. As hair algae becomes more established, it grows rather long and attaches to the substrate stronger making it harder for manual removal."

Wouldn't growing long = tall?

LOL!

The reason I ask.....is because I do have a few small areas, which get long.

My snails, hermits, ermerald or lawn mower don't touch the stuff.

Guess it's Bryopsis:(

i would take out the rock and scrub it off... the stuff spreads fast and nothing touched it.

you have to take the rocks out and whos says that is going to do the trick ,is going to come back on the same rock or by scurbing it take out all the strain of the algea out ?
