1 sol over a 40 breeder will give you too much of a dark area on bothe sides , you really are gonna need 2 modules for max performance and growth ! at the new price it should be easier to pick up that second module for alot of us! but i have seen ai modules on almost every size tank made and i have set up mine with help from the a.i. c2 crew those guys know everything about the lights they make.

Howze when are you doing that:)? I'd love to know the spread you get from it.

I emailed AI asking them today their recommendation.

It's going to be a few weeks. Going to try and get it in the group buy over on you-know-where. Hopefully it will be included in it. If not I will go over to TB next weekend and pick one up. I'm hoping to have the tank up and ready when I get the light. The way I see it, they have a Nano over a 40b and getting good softy growth with it. The 50 is the same footprint just a little deeper so I'm hoping it will be enough for my zoos and a few other LPS.

How many

Reef4life I am wondering if you ever got an answer for how many you would need for your system. I am starting the plumbing on my 180 upgrade as well as selling my old car tomorrow so might be the time to get some new LEDs soon.

not sure of how wide your tanks are, but i have seen a 200 gal oceanic using 2 modules , and it could of taken a third for a brighter look, however , i would say 3 modules with the wider optic lenses would do a great job on a 180 its all pending how you situate the lights.

I emailed AI, they told me they have the nano on a 50g no problem growing softies and Lps.

I asked if it would be good on a rsm -130d which is 24 x 18 x 20 or close to it. Justin at AI said it would be sufficient to keep acans and softies but recommended if I wanted to keep them on the sand to get the sol blue.

I'll be ordering a sol blue once the group buy starts.
