I have an Aquapod 24 gallon with LPS corals. Had a Neon Goby for about 2 years and lately started looking bent plus losing weight and I have not seen him for a couple days so assume he died of old age. So now I have a Pajama Cardinal (7 years), a Blue Chromis (2 years), a firefish (2 years), a Green Clown Goby (3 years) and a Rusty Goby (2 years).

The tank looks empty because the Rusty Goby stays under rock and only darts out for food. The cardinal just hovers around. The Clown Goby hops around but mostly just sits on the corals. So the only activity is the chromis and the firefish. So I would like to get a colorful active fish.

Could try a Royal Gramma but I don't know if he will get along with the Chromis since they have similar shape. A Yellow Clown Goby may not get along with the Green Clown in such a small tank plus they sometimes nip corals. I have crushed coral so the sand loving fish won't like it. Not sure if I could add another firefsh, probably need to put 2 in the same time for it to work. I could get another Neon Goby but don't see them around here and it is too costly just to order one fish on line. I

Or maybe I shouldn't risk bringing in disease and let my nice peaceful tank stay as is.

royal grammas and blue chromis do not have similar shapes. now a royal gramma and a firefish could be a problem :) i am not sure because my tank is larger but my green chromi and royal gramma get along just fine.

I disagree, royal grammas and blue chromis are very similar. I have had both. Also the Gramma should not be a problem since it will be going in after the firefish which is already there. Small angels like the coral beauty are probably still too big for a 24 and besides they usually nip at corals.

I am not sure how you disagree but OK, we agree to disagree. Ggive the gramma and firefish a shot, I have seen grammas become way more aggressive than firefish even after added 2nd but it could work as well. Just my .02, good luck with whatever you do.

Thanks for the input but those are either green or blue green that you always see around. I am refring to the Chromis cyanea which I have. I used to have a Gramma but had to get rid of him to add more fish. But now if I add him last it should work.

six line wrasse is good for a small reef. clown fish have a tendency to get aggressive in a small reef tank with other fish. A black cap or swales basslet would be cool, but a little pricey
