tomini tang

So I just picked up a tomini tang last wednesday and he's been hiding in the rocks since he's been in the tank. My only concern is that he's not eating. So far i have tried flakes, frozen mysis and a veggie clip. Does anyone have any suggestions to get this fish to come out and eat?

do u check if he comes out at night.? he is probably still adjusting to his surroundings

I have been checking at night with all the lights out but still haven't seen him come out.

what other fishes do have in the tank!?
or how many fishes you have in the tank ? somethimes not having enough fishes in the tank can get a bit longer for the fish to get used to the surrondings! or need to know what else is living in your tank

the only other fish are perc clown, purple dottyback, and damsel. 75 gallon tank

as long as you have live rock with algea, he's fine. leave it alone and it will come out in a few days.

my Tomini did the same thing when I got him try this wrap some nori sheets on a piece of pvc and drop it close to your rockwork,

seems like he's still not eating. I even tried garlic extreme and he still wont come out. Just worried he going to starve himself to death.

it take at least a month for a healthy fish to starve to death. its only been a week. it will come around eventually give it time, if u do too much u may even spook it more, and it will be less likely to come around, once its hungry enough it will eat anything.

He looks to be pretty healthy. I guess I'm just nervous cause I haven't had good luck with tangs before. So I'll just give it sometime.

The Tomini and the Kole tangs behave in the same way. They are both very shy. Just leave him alone for a bit and he'll come out.
