I have one and it always goes into the trap first. If I don't feed the tank for a few days and I try to catch a fish. Guess who's first everytime. Even though there are a ton of pods in there.

Bigdog,

I should have explained when you picked up the trap:

  1. Put the trap along a wall with the closed end into a corner. Animals seek walls for protection when they feel threatened (that is why mouse traps are always along the wall).
  2. Do not feed anything to the tank for two days. This gives the fish time to become accustomed to presence of the trap and eventually hunger will win out over caution.
  3. I seem to do better with just the actinics on - I guess its the subdued lighting.
  4. Remember this rule: the fish you want to catch is ALWAYS the last one into the trap :irked:.
Good luck and keep at it - the trap has never failed me yet (although it has taken me up to a week to catch the fish I want).

I have the trap in corner but wit door facing out ,, not in corner ,, and it is in front of tank ,, not back side ,, would it matter ,, 6 line hasn't even went near it yet ,,great fish trap though ,, and my tanga love the feeder..lol

Bigdog, this is why I asked " how big is your tank ". How long as it been set-up for ? The sixline in my tank always seems like he's pregnant and the only meaty food I feed is PE Myssis (from the the one pound pack). So, there's no way he can get one of those myssis down.
