So i have a set of paired clownfish. Just setup new tank about a week ago. Figured the tank was new enough still so i could sneak in a new fish.

Enter the Powder Blue Tang....

At first they paid no attention to him. Left came home to find them chasing him around the entire tank! he's already got a few nips on him.

i was able to pull them out and throw them into my fuge for the moment - allow the tang time to breath for the night.

does anyone have any suggestions? i figured he would be ok being he's double their size...but i was obivously wrong.

best keep the tang in a floating box in the main tang for a few days, so that they can all see each other and get use to themselves. Then when the tang is back up to full strength and has eaten well, just lower the box a bit, so that she can swim in and out of the box. It will be her refuge, when the clowns attack again.

so i think the "take the clowns out" idea worked ::knock on wood::

Put them back in last night when moon lights where on. They kinda just swam around and now the tang was watching them - but thankfully not attacking. I wanna say i got it under control but i dont wanna speak to soon. We'll see tonight when i get home

In my own experience, when I had an agressive fish, I would get rid of it, quickly while the tank is still new. Once reef is established, it is a pain to catch a fish. Others, have been successful with fish traps....

Other advice, is to move rocks around, however your tank is new. Other advice is to place agressive fish last, etc.

However, it really is just better to remove these guys, and make life much easier for you in the future.
