well i have a pinkspot watchman goby and he/she is hilarious. just a few minutes ago he was eating free floating stuff, like copepods, than a snail got in its way and he grabbed it and threw it behind him. than a few minutes later he found a baby serpent or brittle star fish, couldn't tell, picked it up threw it in the air than ate it. If you have any fish like this please tell. I wrote watchman goby because i have heard that many like mine do funny things.

Does he look like this guy?
pinkspotted_shrimp_goby.jpg

If so - he is a Pinkspotted Shrimp Goby (Cryptocentrus leptocephalus..and therefore needs a sense of humor..lol)

Great fish, I've had one forever. We call him 'Kickstand'. They do tend to toss things around, especially snails. I thought I lost him during my last aquascaping about 4 months ago but found him living under a different pile of rocks about 2 weeks ago. I was sure I'd dropped a rock on his head..happy to find I didn't.

I'll see if I can find a pic of him when he was having a particular crisis a while back...it was interesting...

We never did figure it out, but had some fun with it in the thread...

I miss that mine is at the far end of the tank now, I liked it better when he'd sit and stare at me while I was working, always good for amusement. Of course where he is currently living is in the area where the Vortech circulates the food the best. Can't blame him I suppose..lol

i understand what you mean, mine is also in the a place were food comes from two directions and there is a huge cave that only he can get in. My whitest sand is there too. :) That is amazing how his face is two different colors. maybe he'll take out a coin and decide your fate... (Two face from Batman)

funny thing i observed today, my goby really enjoys being cleaned by my fire shrimp so much so that if its not paying attention to it the goby will actually knock the shrimp behind the eyes till it decides to clean him. im going to try to catch this on video cause its just too funny lol also i noticed that when i put the tangs food out he is more than happy to pick algae off the feeding rock lol
