I know that you can't mix large with large and dwarf with dwarf but can you mix a dwarf and large if they are dissimilar colors and shapes? If so, what combos work best and what is the minimum size tank?
somebody lied to you! I've had many tanks with multiple angels, over the past 30+ years. Of course, there are some, that would be a problem, with others, and factors, such as tank size...you're better off, just telling us, which angels, you'd like to put together.I know that you can't mix large with large and dwarf with dwarf

This is my back yard, (a canal in the Lower Florida Keys)...just wanted to share this...I have many, many more with mixed groups of French, Gray, Blues, Queens and Townsends of different degrees.
This one was just handy.
Keep in mind this is the wild...this shows two of a group of three Blue Angelfish that have been together since I first noticed the trio as very small juveniles a year or two ago.
