I've been asking around everywhere... so figured I'd try here.

My girlfriend fell in love with the idea of having a Fahaka Puffer.

Does anyone know where I can get one?

I can't find one anywhere.. or a store that'll order one for me.

they dont have them in stock now but you can have them email you when they get one

Yeah.. I mean more of a local store that could order for me, so I wouldn't have to pay $30+ just for shipping on a fish thats only 20 bucks..

The Fahaka Puffer, also known as the Nile Puffer or Band Puffer, comes from the lakes and rivers of Africa and can grow to a very large size. They will inhabit both freshwater and brackish waters of the river systems, but tend to do best in freshwater in the home aquarium. The Fahaka is brownish gray on the back fading to an off-white on the underbelly, with a series of lighter horizontal stripes running from the tail to the pectoral fin

The Pet Barn in Franklin Square has a few puffers there (I stopped by yesterday), though I didn't look to see what kind they were.
The are on Franklin Ave a few blocks south of Hempstead Turnpike on the right side.
I'm sure he can order the fish for you.

Yep.. they Fahakas are large freshwater puffers .

i think they have 1 in fishtopia up in fishkill ny i saw a puffer in a fresh water tank 3 days ago845-896-7555 thats the #.
