Onyx Clowns and Corals/Anemones

Hello,

Does anyone who have Onyx clowns find that they host any particular corals/anemones more than others? Have a new pair on Onyx and would like to get them a nice coral or anemone (preferably a coral) to make them comfortable. I have heard that Onyx fade in color sloghtly when the host an RBTA...true? B/c that is the anemone I prefer.

i love rose bubbletip anemones and all 6 of my clowns try to go in that one first, then they try my neon green bubble tip, and if not then my white ugly bubbletip. my friends actually host in his matallic green tourch coral since he has not had time to get them an anemone. i prosonally love the rose. good luck!

I have a pair of onyx clowns in a rbta and their colors never faded. The first second I put the rbta in the tank they dove into it.

there is no guarentee they will host anything, took 5 months before 1 of mine started to host and i had 7 anenomes in there, and other stuff they host

Yes I know that there is no guarantee but I guess mainly I'm trying to figure out if RBTA causes them to fade a little.

I spoke to Rod Buehler of "Rod's Clowns" (ha) and he said he's seen it with his own eyes so I'm just confused, but I guess I can put it in and hope for the best...I just want the tru black color to come out and not be faded.

Yes it can take longer for them to color, and have read on rc where they wont fully color up in rbta, my true percs have had no problem in coloring in my rbta or gbta

i noticed they color faster under MH, me and a friend bought some and mines colored fast his didn't color at all
