I see a lot of the Black False Percs on here and in the LFS. I already have one regular orange False Perc. Will a Black one pair up with an orange? Not saying that any 2 clowns will be absolute pals or a pair. Just curious to know if it is even a possibility with these two. Thanks.

Hey congrats on the 1 clown. I think they should be fine- especially if in a descent sized tank if theyre both gonna be false percs. Usually you hear people having problems with them fighting when they mix species, especially with the more aggressive ones- tomatoes and maroons. I would try to pick out one thats smaller than the one you have now, that way if they pair up dominance will be quickly established- the bigger one will morph into a female. Hopefully some of the more experienced will comment though- a buddy of mine bought 2 oscelaerus clowns the other day from 2 different tanks and put them together in his 150 and they get along great already. They teamed up right away and are always together.

I have been keeping fish for over 15 years but never really any clowns. I had a pair of seabae clowns years ago. The Gf wanted this guy and now a buddy for him. I know the morph thing happens. Just curious if anyone had a pair like that.
