The only proven cures for ich are hyposalinity and copper. None of the other stuff works, if it is safe for corals which are inverts its safe for the ich. I would do the copper. The ich will stay on the fish for 3-7 and then drop off the fish. Once it drops of the fish the copper will kill it.

Here is a very good website on ich, http://www.petsforum.com/personal/trevor-jones/marineich.html.

pmui - Eventhough you have rocks in the tank you can still get out any fish. Please read this thread on RC by Calfo, How to Catch Fish and Critters in Displays. The things Anthony talk about in the thread really work.

If you want to eliminate the ich, you have to take the fish out.

so what is he to do. its not always a great idea to use chemicals to treat diseases in the tank. and he wont take the fish out cause theres to much rock work. any suggestions on some display tank chemicals THAT are safe. hehehe are there any.

I just posted 4 references of all the info anyone would need to treat ich.
Anthony Caflo clearly outlines how to get any fish out of any tank. All anyone needs to do is take the time to read it. I caught a sohal tang, naso tang and emperor angel myself using his techniques without moving rocks.

Steven Pro clearly talks about the myths of garlic

ATJ talks all about ich, its cycles and cures.

And I posted a link where many hobbyist talk about their ich experiences.

Why would you keep advising him to just do garlic? Have you read any of those links? And have you successfully eliminated ich before?

I would also argue that a fish suffering thru ich would be much more stressed than a fish going thru a proper (not overdosed) copper treatment (which can be done in 2 weeks).

i would say that might of helped with some tlc and pristine water cured him. there no reason to get all crazy dude. im just giving advice on what has worked for me. i wouldnt give it if i havent experienced it. everyone is free to give advice as long as there is experience behind the advice. with anything he is going to read up on ich which is highly suggested.. im not trying to argue with ya the steps that i mentioned worked for me and should also work for him. thats all. no biggie. :)

Why would you say I'm getting crazy for asking why you are advising something and to clarify what you are saying? If your giving advice you should be able to back it up with references, not by saying the other person is acting crazy.

One ich parasite can turn into 200 in as little as 6 days. Time is an issue with ich. Telling someone garlic will cure ich (with no prove at all) IMO is not good advice.
