I hope you quarentine or at least f/w dipped, leave the food mix with garlic cloves(cut in half) for a day or two in the fridge, and feed the tang 2-3 times daily, if you can catch it, F/W dip it once a day, make sure the PH is around the same as your tank, you should be okay, tried it sooooo many times. always work for me, you should QT your fish to avoid these problems, ick spread quick in a marine tank.

Sounds like ich, if he's in the tank leave him be as the tank now has ich. Trying to catch him will only add to the stress, unfortunately fresh water dips do not do anything for ich; great for flukes but not much else. At this point go with garlic soaked foods and keeping him well fed.

I did this for a couple weeks and eventually the ick killed my powdered tang.. do you have inverts or corals??
