I just saw a bit of algea trace in my reef. I had taken all of my crabs out to treat the tank with Interceptor a few weeks back. I just put in 5 tiny hermit crabs, so maybe I am jumping the gun here. I haven't seen algea in my tanks for about 3 years, and I definitely do not want it back.:tongue1:
If I were to add an algea blenny, or a starry blenny what do I feed the little guy when there is no more algea?

I have no plans on reducing my feeding.... Out of the question!! I like to eat, so I am not going to be a hipocrite, and starve my fish or corals.LOL So don't go there.;)

A bigger skimmer may be an option, but not right away. I'd be looking for a skimmer under 23" in height used which will not be easy to find.;)

Which blenny do you have? I had gotten Slama's fat algea blenny a while back (more the 2 years ago), but I had no algea. It died shortly after.;(

Sorry Michael, I didn't know how to tell you.;(

an algae blenny will eat anything, absolutely anything including flakes, pellets, frozen food, etc. mine used to bite my hand as well whenever i stuck my hand in the tank. in fact, he will probably be the first in line during any feedings easily out competing other fish. the best part is that he will eat the algae off the glass and leave kiss marks all over glass.

I like the starry blenny, and it has been quoted to be a "voracious algae eater". Therefore I was worried that with there not being any algae in my reef it would starve to death.:(
