are you sure the pods are eating your zoas? i've never heard of this before. normally they are very beneficial to have in your system. also, populations of these guys are kind of self-regulating. if you feed less you will probably reduce their numbers in time.

as for the mandarin, depending on the size of your tank you might not be able to sustain one long-term.

How big is your tank? How long has it been running? If it hasn't been an established LARGE tank for years then it will not be able to keep 1 mandarin sustained let alone 2.

a mandarin will not eat amphipods. they eat copepods. amphipods, atleast in adult form are too large a food. i would choose a wrasse. any of the fairy wrasses should be fine for you.

Pods aren't a threat to anything, they are good for a tank.

I would have to disagree, amphipods are a serious pests. At least for the Zoas. Last week I posted a thread with the same problem. http://www.manhattanreefs.com/forum/general-discussion/143374-tank-under-attack.html

Check it out there are few videos that shows amphipods munching on zoas. I went with Yellow Coris Wrass and seen the population decrease. Good luck to you and I wouldnt take it lightly as I have already lost few frags.
