I plan on setting up an aquapod 12 very shortly. I want the tank to be a zoanthid and maybe a little lps, but mainly zoas and softies. I want to get a painted frogfish to be the only fish inhabitant. I know they have huge mouths, but invert wise how safe are they with something such as nass/turbo snails or scarlet hermits? i would like to have both in the tank. and maybe a big brittle star?

I would just say keep a close eye for a little while to make sure, if there are problems you may need to be quick and take them out.

Brendan i just read your 12 pod thread about your sargassum that choked on a hermit and died :Yikes: . So wouldn't it be a bad idea to have scarlets with a longlure?

i hear that your supposed to feed them once a week, twice tops with a silverside if it accepts frozen or with ghost shrimp if they eat only live. From what i understand over feeding is a major cause of death in angler/frogfish

Zach, I believe now that the hermit was taking advantage of a free meal after the angler died.

hi again manhattan reefs. I have moved into my room at school and I already set up the tank with around 20 lbs of sand 20 lbs of rock and a small cleanup crew that consists of 10 small nass snails and 10 medium turbos and astreas. I also have a humbug damsel. THe tank has been up and running for around 5 days. I will take pics soon and post. I did a nitrate test after 3 days with 20 lbs of rock in it and live sand and it was 0. How soon should i expect a nitrate spike I thought that 20 lbs of rock would do it really fast.
