I know how difficult it can be to raise clowns. My Percs just recently beagn breeding, it's fun to watch. If they even hatch, the fry have no chance of surviving in my reef.

I'm thinking about setting up another tank for the hatching and rearing. My question is this: Is it possible to do this with just the one extra tank or do I need a few tanks for the different stages of growth?

I live in an apartment and my space is limited.

True Percs are tough to find near me and I know I could sell them to my LFS.

I would say you would need at least 2 more tanks.I larva tank and 1 grow out tank. the growout needs to be a bit bigger since 100+ baby clownfish poop alot.

Its nearly impossible for a home breeder to make any money raising clownfish. IMO even more so with true percula who tank a long time to grow out to sellable. I think 8-9 month is the goto market age for them. thats another reason you dont see them as much because breeder can send Ocellaris to market in 4 months and most LFS dont want to pay more for the Percula's

The experiance is verry rewarding and I would definetly try it. Just dont expect to make money or even break even. and dont expect to have any free time for the first months ..

check out this site and good luck, PM me if you need any help
