blotchy anthias

how big of a tank is needed to house 1 of these fish? will they get along with tangs?

They get big for an anthias. I would think a 90 gallon. I have 3 of these guys in with a few tangs, a couple of wrasse and a flame angel. They all get along fine.

You're lucky to have them get along,They're not schooling fish like other Anthias.I only have one and he's mean.

Not a big enough tank, They are one of the ugliest looking fish I have seen in a long time.

I have one now for at least 7 months.It's fine.They don't get that big.6" at most.

I have one with three Tangs. They get along just fine. The Anthias isn't mean at all

There are fish fads, just like any other hobby.

Maybe but these are rare deepwater fish. Their presence in huge numbers is scary.

Kind of a small tank IMO. When it gets bigger it will need a bigger tank.

They are showing up in numbers now because an easy shallow water collection site was discovered that makes them accessible and inexpensive to collect.

Makes sense that they went from $250 last year to $70 this year.

I have one. Not a great looking fish... still a nice looking fish. I have 2 tangs and no issues.
