Hello Everybody,

I bought a Royal Gramma last week... on Friday.

I saw him for the first few days in my rock work just swimming around a bunch of caves. Then I saw him go into a rock 2 days ago.

I haven't seen him since... even during feeding time. Do you think he is dead? I really hope not... I know for a fact I lost a purple queen anthias and that never surfaced.

how big is the tank? Grammas are skinny so they can hide in the pores of rocks to dodge predators. A new gramma would be hiding alot while adjusting. hes definitely in there.

I wouldn't worry quite yet, might still just be getting comfy in your tank. Frequently my Gramma is out at night when the rest of the fish are sleeping. Yours might be laying low during the day when the other fish are out & about. They are very protective of their territory.

I have a 54 gallon Corner Tank with a lot of rockwork. He is also pretty small, equal size as my damsel.

I noticed my Midas Blenny is VERY territorial. He didn't pick at the gramma when I did see him... any thoughts?

Just checked the sump and overflow don't see him.

Yea just double checked... no sign of the Royal Gramma. I hope he comes out tomorrow. I usually am not home during the day. Work and go to class so I leave the house at like 7 and get home at 9PM or so. Not sure what goes on during the day.

Keep checking. When my blue devil damsel was in the display tank, my gamma hid since it was scared. Now its out all day ever since I removed the damsel.

You think I should remove the damsel???

I have a blue devil damsel as well but this guy is kept in check by my Midas Blenny

The Royal Gramma is pretty small but I know they get pretty territorial. I am going to try to get him out with food he cannot resist. A mix of Cyclop Eeze and Arcti Pods.

Peter, how's that 55 I sold to you going?
