hey guys, finally got my clowns last thursday, although they have been actuing extremely weird..one, (the bigger one) stays in one spot, and i rarely see it move out of that spot. At first it was the corner towards the front and now its by the return head. The smaller one swims all over the tank. Just earlier he was doing laps around the tank at a rather fast pace. Right now he is swimmiing in the middle of the tank exploring. i have yet to see them go into the rock work. heres a pic of what they were doing earlier..the bigger clown, the one that it is hard to see - -closer to the top andreturn head has not really come out of this spot except when i took my algae scrubber and cleaned the back wall..the bigger clown is hovering in a position where as if you were to look at the tank, his spine is pointed towards the front, almost as if he was laying on his side but just in open water, around the return head..here are some pics

is there any coral for them to host in?

with no coral they act kind of lost, they like to have a security blanket to stay in.

last thursday, i figured at first that this is due to getting used to the tank but i dont understand why the big clown wont leave that spot, but the smaller one does laps around the tank!

I wouldn't freak out. My clowns did the same thing. My big one just wiggled in the corner at night and then would be slow but active in the day while the small one swam around a lot.

Just make sure they are able to eat. Did you try like sinking morsels or cyclopeeze?

Don't spot feed the clowns.

Well. I would ask the vendor who you bought it from what he was feeding for a start. Give it some time they should be eating like pigs in no time, my clown right now is hovering in one spot and swimming oddly, they do weird things.

When I got my baby picasso alone...all he did was swim up and down by the powerhead for the first week...rarely swimming to the front (maybe when hungry). Then I got another baby falsey and aside from the fighting, they seem to move around more...yet they both seem to be 'hosting' the return pump and nano flo jammy for most of the day...

mine were fed the ocean nutrition brine flakes by the breeder, but I couldn't track them down so I got the hikari vitamin-enriched brine shrimp and then ocean nutrition prime reef flakes and they seem to like it...I crumble it up though so it can fit in their mouths... I just throw it in and they wait by the powerheads and get it. cute!
