Does anyone have a trick for catching a bi-color blenny? He loves to hide in the deep holes in my rock and it seems almost impossible to get him. He's a nice fish but I really want to get a tail spot blenny (they stay small) and having them both in a 40 gallon breeder seems like a really bad idea. Has anyone had any luck catching these fish?

Thanks

If hes in a rock , and the rock is accessible, you can bring the rock almost to the surface till the blennie feels like hes out of the water and cant breath. After a few tries he should come out. Thats how i caught mine once. It took a few times but he finally gave up and came out. Try to have a net under the rock because if he comes out into your tank, he'll just find another spot to hide. Happy Hunting !

Keep his food suspended in the water column, and be quick about it when he goes for it. That was the only way we could catch our sixline, as that tank had too many small holes for him to get into, like what you described. Good luck!

Mine slept in a crevice on the top of the rock work so in the am I put the net over him and blasted him out with the turkey baster right into the net. I did this after many tries other ways. Good Luck!
