I KNOW all you wrasse loves out there can help me out i picked up this beutiful wrasse can any one tell me what it is i think it could be to diffrent ones and i know there are a few of you guys that can help me out thanks again richie

I have a rhomboid. THe tail is long and shaped like a diamond.

the coloring is the biggest reason i dont think it is, if it is richie hand it over so my female has a b\f :tongue1:

I thinks it's NOT Lineatus. It does not have the striking color nor the dotted tails and fins of a Lineatus.

Like lunner and randy mentioned, that fish is definitely a male pylei from vanuatu.

guys thanks but i think it is a lineatus becouse it has no orange or red it is yellow with purple and the tail has a little red but not like the picture lunner posted it has lots of purple

Sorry Richie, but it is not a lineatus. Not that we can't be wrong, but between Lunner, Heuerfan and myself we have seen more fairy wrasses than most on this board.

Richie, there is a lot of color variation in the pylei wrasses I have seen. Mine is extremely red in coloration - more so than any of the pictures I have seen online. I remember Dean's was quite yellow looking like yours. I think it's a male pylei as well.
