Auriga Butterfly is eating my Green Carpet

My Auriga Butterfly is eating my green carpet anenome is there anything I can do? Does anyone have any advice? Are there any anenomes that they do not eat. I didnt know that they where not compatible.

It best to remove it before it kills it. Butterfly fish will eat polyps and soft corals so it would be a risk putting in any anenome with it.

Ok thanks Right now I have him in a protective bubble for now till he gets better and I can move him to my friends tank. Thanks for the help.

What may work is to have a pair of clowns that is very protective of the anemone, they may keep the Butterfly away from it. It's still risky.

I have a clown that was doing that for a while but he has ADD and forgets to look after his home sometimes.

What kind of carpet is it?

One carpet is a fish eater and one is not.


Most times fish will get stung by the anemone and most likely remember not to do it again.

Well its not the fish stinging kind cause my butterfly keeps eating him. Gave the green carpet to a friend. he will be better off.

good choice, better to keep the fish to keep the tank clear of aiptasia.
