I have no experience breeding clown fishes. If anyone out there who have actual experiences of hatching and growing little clown fish please give me some pointers. The eggs are sticking to my overflow. My plan is to scoop up all the larve when it hatch and then take it from there if i can get my hands on some larvea food.

Please post from experience, there is a tons of info out there but it's kind of confusing.

I'm looking for rotifier and photoplanton anyone have some for sale.

Here's a pic of the egg from a week ago.

First, lets catch them. The simplest collector is to put a submersible LED light in a 1 soda bottle then make sure the entrance is smaller than other inhabitants to go thru such as peppermint shrimp, add a PVC pipe(like half inch ID) to the mouth of the bottle and thus making a tunnel. Submerge the bottle and point that tunnel towards the eggs.

If you wanna go advance make a bubble vacuum.

An easy way to catch them when they hatch is to shut off your filters. They hatch shortly after your lights go out. I used to tape a LED bulb on the side of the tank with. I would start a siphon into a small tank with a U tube. In the small tank i had a small power head inside of a 2 liter bottle with the bottom cut out siliconed to a permanent coffee filter. Perfect size! The fry will hatch and swin towards the light and they dont get damaged in the transfer :) Come back an hour or 2 later and youll be all set! Rotifers are the way to go. Also black out the tank that your putting them in as they will relentlessly swim towards the sides of the tank trying to get to the light. Also leave the top of the tank open and nothing more than room light. If memory serves after a week or so you can remove whatever you have covering the sides of the tank. Have fun :)

let me know if we can take some of the eggs to hatch.....

Right now they are breeding eggs on the overflow. My plan is to try to take the pair out from the 180g and put them in a breeder tank in 1.5 months after my trip..and try to breed them and you are wlcome to try.

Would you think scrapping the eggs off the overflow is a good idea? I'm just not sure if they'll still survive. If so whoever is interested can try but i'm afraid the eggs will break if i scrap them.

Scraping them wont work. Also transfering them to a smaller tank may make them not mate for awhile till they get used to the new tank. :) See my above comments for an easy way to catch the newly hatched fry. It works like a charm as i used it when my clowns bred in my 120 :)
