What is it with puffers

I just lost my guniea fowl puffer,my third one in four years.Is this a difficult fish to keep,it's the only one I have no luck with.I give them different food daily with vitamin supplements.Someone mentioned since alot of us try to keep our tanks alittle low on the salinity side this affects them,I don't know,I keep my tank at 17 to help keep away parasites.Has anyone else ran into this problem with puffers?

maybe you have a tankmate who bullies them. give some info about ur livestock and filtration. sorry for the loss

I have a clown tang,blonde naso tang,queen angel,sargassum trigger and a juvenille emperor angel,everyone gets along well,I have an SL250 amiracle wet/dry,ASM G1X skimmer and a 25 w UV on my 125 FO.

My opinion. I keep my fowlr at around 1.020, or above! Too low salinity puts added stress on the fish.
