So...yesterday I got an african flameback(pygmy) I acclimated it for over 3 hours....when I introduced it into the tank, he swam into a cave and hung out for a few hours...I walk away for about 30 mins and when I came back I found it stuck to the PH(I have a vortech w/ the covering).

Did I kill it?

The salinity was matched perfectly(checked w/ a refractor) as was temp...and PH.
The fish was stressing out badly when I first got it home...lying on the bottom of the bag breathing heavily...but then it was ok and was swimming around as it was acclimated...
ask me any other ?'s you may have...

Did I kill the little guy?

hey rookie, i highly recommend getting a in-tank specimen holder. in the past, i used a floating breeder thingy i found at petco to house new fish after acclimation, so i can keep a close eye on it, and also protect it from tankmates. i placed a pvc pipe segment in there to provide some shelter.

Also it could be harrassed to death by other tank mates. I had some wrasses that I bought that were a little to small compared to the others to hold their own in my tank only the large wrasse made it.
