I have a 75 gallon tank with no fish in there. The tank has been set up for over 6 months with live rock and live sand. I have a regal angel in a quarinteen tank waiting to go in there. The only reason I am waiting to put him in there is b.c I wanted to know if it was possible if i could another angel in the 75 gallon tank with the Regal. I thought if I was goin to mix angels it would be best if I put them in there at the same time. Also if it is possible for me to mix angels, can someone tell me good angels ( large angels, like a blueface, not a dwarf angel, like a coral beauty) to mix with a regal angel. The regal is about 5 inches.

Thanks

Honestly, you should be looking at the dwarf angels instead of the larger types since you are only setting up a 75. Larger species get way too big for that tank even at 5 inches and I wouldn't even consider adding a second angel.

ok first the tank I was talking about with Bikinisalt is another 75, I have 5 of them. The reason I cant put them in the bigger tank is b.c the tank is being built into my wall so it is not ready for fish. It is not even ready to be set up. The contractor said that the tank should be ready to be filled in about a month b.c he is building a little room behind the tank so I can maintain the tank. So I want to be able to put things in this 75 so it is just not a tank filled with water.

Not sure why you ask asking if any of these angels might be good tankmates for your Regal angel because according to this thread you already have a Blue Faced..so I'd think you already know something about them..

Curious to know if this Regal was in the same QT tank as the 10" Clown Tang with Ich in this post. btw, what ever did happen with him?

Can we also assume that the fish with ich in this thread is a different fish..you call him a Lollipop Tang but I'm not finding any info on that kind if fish..

In this thread you said the following:
I have a tang with ich in a 55 gallon tank. It is a Lollipop Tang that has ich. I quarinteen him with copper in a 30 gallon for about 2 weeks or until it is gone, but after he is better and I put him back into the main tank he gets ich again within 2 weeks. In the main tank I have a UV sterilizer on there and I have treated my main tank for ich once ( my uv got unpluged, and the ich from my lollipop spread). All the levels in my tank are perfect. All my other fish are fine in there, they don't have ich. What should I do so he will stop getting ich. In my main tank I have 6 fish in there (including lollipop tang). I baby yellow tang, a small blueface angel ( he has his adult colors but is only about 3-4 inches, a fiji blue dot puffer (dwarf puffer, is only 3 inches), a lunare wrasse (baby) and a true black phoenix percula and the lollipop with ich. I know there are a alot of fish in there even though they are small, but I raise them in there until they get too big and then a put them in one of my 125 gallons. All the fish have been in there together over 6 months now and none of them ever fought. In the main tank I treated the tank with seacure, but in my quarinteen tank I use coppersafe ( I like coppersafe better even though seacure is stronger). This tank has been set up for over a year now

Frankly I'm very confused .
Maybe you could clear this all up for us?

The lollipop tang is the cousin of the powder Brown tang. Also the blueface angel I was telling you about is in a 55 gallon. and the clown tang that had bleeding, I treated it with a medicine made by API and he is fine. The clown tang I acutally traded it in with my store I traded it for a Cherevon Tang, Now I have to Cheveron in a quarinteen tank first to make sure he is wealthy before I put him in the same tank as the regal which is the 75 gallon with nothing in it.

That is not true, the lollipop tang is not the same as the powder brown tang. the color of the stripes are different. For example, the powder brown has a red stripe, the lollipop has a orange one. Also on the powder brown they have that white area on their face, the lollipops don't. Also on the bottom fin the powder brown has only the color of his fin, the lollipop has a orange stripe down it, just like the top fin.

And this tang is in what sized tank? Not the QT but the normal display. With what other fish?

Just get a bigger tank, it will solve all your problems. For the maintenance and electric involved having 5 75 gallon tanks you're better off with a 300 gallon tank where you can keep all the fish you want.

I'd also like to point out the wisdom of chris rock:
"Just because you can drive with your feet if you want to, don't make it a good idea"

Repeat that to yourself as you pick out fish and you'll be all good.

What's not true? That I've seen that fish labeled as a Lollipop Tang?

Lollipop Tang is a generic name many hobbyists & LFS use to identify fish with similar appearances. It's no different than the name "Christmas Wrasse" which encompasses many species of Halichoeres with similar markings.

powder browns and lollipops are the same fish. The "cousin" would be the gold rim tang. The proper name for the lollipop/powder brown is Acanthurus Japonicus and it does have a few different slight variants but they are all the same fish. Also, even at the sizes you mentioned for the angels they are too big for even a 75. I often tell people "If you squatted you could fit inside a 75.... does that sound like fun? You're taking fish that in the wild have a territory that would dwarf even a 500g tank."
