it seems like most people in here feed Mysis Shrimp as their main diet. Is Mysis Shrimp there only main diet? do this frozen food expire? how do good flakes do?

I use the mysis & mix it with with other foods like shrimp, clam, crab, spirulina etc... and then freeze it in thin layers in zip lock bags to make my own fish food.
I rotate this meaty food with cyclopeeze, pellets and flake food so they get a varied diet. Additionally, I feed nori on a veggie clip for the fish to graze on.
I buy the krill as a treat for my Oscars.

If you run a search on fish food receipies you'll find others and different methods of making/freezing your own food :)

I still have alot of fun.

I feed a mix of formula 1, 2 and prime reef flakes as a staple diet and MYSIS as a treat.

I was hoping someone here would have said they feed NLS. The owner of this product swears by it and even has a Video on his site showing off all of the Marine Fish that feed solely on this food. There is even a Moorish Idol in the tank! I plan to make NLS a main part of my staple. I have used it for African Cichlids and they look like Crack Fiends when feeding this food!

The main thing is to have a variety of foods regardless of whether you make it or someone else does the mixing. That is the only way to get all the nutrition the fish need. Selcon is a vitamin additive not a food.
