ok , i had bob , my volitan lion for 2 years , until a week ago :( , he died , so can anyone come up with a good reason , i stress good reasons , lion was in perfect health until one night he started breathing heavy and was afraid of food , next night he looked like he was running the f-ing NY marathon , gills and even opening his mouth up to breath , that night he died , tested all water levels , f-ing perfect , no external problems , no gill problems except 4 breathing thing , feeding him silvers and krill once and a while mollies , anyone can help on this , it would be appericated , im so f**kin upset im taking the lionfish tank i have down , got 2 left volitan and rad lions , but please no ovious questions like what was your salt level at , im , looking for people who know there sh*t . thankx everybody.

Outside of the other lion fish what else do you have in the tank? Also unless the tank is very large a problem could developed from having to many lion fish in the same tank. The other lion fish may have picked on him causing him to stress out and die.

Also if you still have the fish, check it's gills and mouth, it may have something stuck in there or maybe even a parasite.
