Tilefish

A couple of weeks ago when I was in NWA, I saw that they had quite an active skunk tilefish in. I didnt' buy it because it had just come in, my tank is too small, and they are notoriously hard to keep.

But I was curious on that last point - is the only reason they're difficult to keep the issue of getting them to eat? Once they're eating, are there other difficulties associated with them?

As you say, they are often difficult to get to eat. They also need a pretty deep sandbed to build their burrows and they are very good jumpers.

I would rank them with some of the fairy wrasses in the jumping department. Even at several inches they can expertly put themselves through tiny gaps in a lid that would seem almost impossible to get through.

I had a school of four and they eat pretty good the only problem is their are jumpers one after one i found them on my floor next day so if you have a close top they will do good
